We offer cash pay and sliding scale options.  Email catherine@riverrosecounseling.com to discuss options. For sliding scale, you must provide proof of income. If you are unable to pay for therapy, please speak with Catherine to see what other options may be available to you. 

No.  You can choose to pay for therapy out-of-pocket.  Cash price for individual, couples, or family therapy is $150/hour. If you choose to pay out-of-pocket you cannot submit claims to your insurance.  You will be provided a Good Faith Estimate of the amount you can expect to pay for your course of treatment. Payment is due at the time of service. If we are out of network for your insurance we can provide you with a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance. You are still responsible to River Rose for the full payment and you will work with your insurance for get reimbursed. 

Every person is different and has unique treatment needs.  You and your clinician will discuss your particular needs and continue to assess your progress and needs throughout therapy.  According to the American Psychological Association:

• About 50% of people will start to feel better after about 15-20 sessions of therapy
• Certain short-term therapy types can produce results in as few as 12-16 sessions
• More complex psychological conditions, and certain personality  disorders, may require lengthier treatments (between 12-18 months)
• People with more chronic conditions may need longer and more extensive treatment ( American Psychological Association. How Long Will It Take for Treatment to Work? )

Yes. Our therapists are only licensed in the state of Virginia so you must be physically located in the state of Virginia to participate in therapy.
